2. PayPal: emilypavoneart
3. Cash
4. Check (Made payable to Emily Smith)
Please note: I cannot begin your commissioned piece until payment has been received.
For local clients in the Hudson Valley, I can arrange a meetup to deliver your piece. If shipping is required, the cost of shipping will be added to your total. I will provide an estimate from my local post office before proceeding.
Why do I need to provide a good-quality photo?
To create the best possible painting or drawing, I need a high-quality reference photo. This allows me to zoom in on the details and accurately capture the likeness and colors. Photos with good lighting work best!
While I will always do my best to recreate any photo, please avoid screenshots or blurry, far-away images. To check your photo’s quality, zoom in on it—if the details become fuzzy, it may be difficult for me to work from.
Why does the price vary?
The cost of your commissioned piece depends on several factors, including:
Medium (acrylic, oil, watercolor, or colored pencil), size and the number of people or animals included.
I invest hours in my studio to ensure your piece is a faithful and high-quality representation of your reference photo. I use only professional-grade materials to create a timeless, cherished work of art.
How long will my commissioned piece take?
Completion times vary based on the medium and my current workload:
Typical timeframe
Watercolor and Colored Pencil - Please allow 4-6 weeks
Acrylic paintings: Please allow 2-3 months
Oil Paintings: Please allow 3-6 months
If you need your piece by a specific date, please let me know as early as possible so I can plan accordingly. Commissions are completed on a first-come, first-serve basis, and I will inform you of any wait times before proceeding.
Can you combine multiple photos into one piece?
Yes! I can combine people or animals from different photos into one composition. For best results, ensure the photos are similar in perspective (e.g., one isn’t far away while the other is close-up).
Can you work from old or damaged photos?
Yes, I have experience using torn, discolored, or aged photos as references. While recreating such images can be challenging, I will do my best to bring them to life.
Sharing
By commissioning a piece, you grant me permission to share progress updates and the final artwork on my social media and website. If the piece is a surprise gift, please let me know so I can delay posting until after it has been given.

You may cancel your order within 1 week of placing it.
